Great choice of video, really appreciated it.People need to take intimate partner violence (I like that phrase, haven’t heard it as often as “relationship violence”) a lot more seriously. Elizabeth Mendez Berry really has a knack for speaking the truth, I’ll have to go read the article, too.
One thing (among many) that I really liked was when she said that each person is responsible for their own response when talking about if one person hits, that doesn’t mean the other should hit back. SUCH an excuse. The two versions of “Love the Way You Lie” came into my head when I was watching that part of the video. And now I feel guilty for enjoying those songs – I am obviously against intimate partner violence, but I like reading/listening to some screwed up fiction and I LIKE to see those songs as fiction even though, well, for far too many people, they’re not. I hope that makes sense and doesn’t make me sound like a horrible person.
